The call

ATTOM's data pipeline is hard to copy quickly, but a private-equity exit clock and a much bigger rival's AI catch-up race are both ticking at once.

ATTOM gathers and cleans property information from thousands of county records and sells it to banks, real estate agents, and investors. The company is hard to replace because it has 30 years of history, a massive database of 158 million properties, and a complex system that links records together and checks them 20 different ways, which a new competitor or AI tool cannot easily copy. However, a much larger company called Cotality (about nine times bigger) already does similar work and has the money to catch up, and ATTOM's current owners (a private equity firm) are likely to sell the company within the next year or two, which means the business could change hands and the future is unclear. The one thing that could matter most is whether ATTOM's newer AI products like ResiScore and ATTOM Intelligence start making real money before the owners decide to sell.

Why
01
AI pressure: AI-native scrapers and generic LLM research tools (e.g. FlowHunt AI Scraper). Scrapers can grab raw listings cheaply, but they can't replicate ATTOM's linked, validated property ID layer that buyers actually pay for. Could AI do the core job? Only partly.
02
Bigger players: Cotality (formerly CoreLogic), ~$1.4B revenue. Cotality has the scale and mortgage-industry ties to build a competing AI-native data layer if it moves fast enough. Could a giant copy it? Yes, easily.
03
What protects it. Its 20-step validation pipeline and normalized property ID linking 158 million records, hard to fake with scraped data alone.
What would change this call
Lovell Minnick sells or refinances ATTOM within 6 to 18 months. Would show PE exit pressure is reshaping ownership and possibly strategy or staffing.
A court ruling or settlement in the Daniel's Law litigation against ATTOM. Would show real financial exposure from data-privacy claims materializing or being dismissed.
Cotality or ICE Data Services launches an MCP or agentic AI-native data product. Would show the larger incumbent matching ATTOM's Jan 2026 MCP launch and closing the AI gap.

Questions people ask
Is ATTOM Data Solutions profitable?
ATTOM discloses no audited financials. Third-party revenue estimates range from about $27.6M to $250M, all unverified by the company. It has been owned by private equity firm Lovell Minnick Partners since January 4, 2019, and took a new Monroe Capital credit facility on June 11, 2025.
Who owns ATTOM Data Solutions?
Lovell Minnick Partners, a PE firm with $4.3 billion in committed capital, acquired ATTOM from Renovo Capital and Rosewood Private Investments in a deal that closed January 4, 2019. Monroe Capital arranged the original acquisition financing and added a new senior credit facility on June 11, 2025.
Could AI replace ATTOM Data Solutions?
ATTOM argues its 20-step validated data pipeline and proprietary ATTOM ID record-linking across 3,000+ counties resist raw AI scraping. It launched an MCP Server for agentic AI access on January 27, 2026, positioning itself as an AI-feed rather than a scrape target, though low-margin report products remain exposed to generic LLM tools.
Who is ATTOM Data Solutions' biggest competitor?
Cotality, formerly CoreLogic, is the dominant incumbent with an estimated $1.4 billion-plus revenue as of June 30, 2026, versus ATTOM's much smaller unverified estimates. ICE/Black Knight and Zillow also compete in adjacent mortgage-data and consumer-distribution niches.
What legal risks does ATTOM Data Solutions face?
ATTOM is a named defendant in New Jersey's Daniel's Law data-broker privacy litigation (Atlas Data Privacy Corp. v. Attom Data Solutions, MER-L-273-24). Courts have denied multiple defendants' motions to dismiss and affirmed a $1,000-per-violation damages framework as of September 25, 2025, creating real financial exposure.
Will ATTOM Data Solutions be sold or acquired?
No sale has been announced, but Lovell Minnick Partners is six to seven years into its January 2019 acquisition of ATTOM, a typical PE hold length, and the June 2025 Monroe Capital credit facility signals continued leverage. A sale or refinancing within 6-18 months is plausible but unconfirmed.
